Teachers and students from five schools’ Environmental Clubs to attend the Learning from the Root program arrived in Durame, the capital of Kembata Tembaro Zone in the Southern Region and welcomed by the host school, Durame High school.
This learning from the root program is designed to enable students to experience the indigenous cultural knowledge of our community, along with the modern education they receive at school. It is a program that is making a significant contribution to the transmission of important existing and traditional knowledge in our community from generation to generation.
Accordingly, the students are welcomed by the hosting farmers’ families at Kembata Tembaro Zone, Kedida Gamela Wereda, Aze debo kebele. The students are staying in the community for four days.
